Samsung are getting stuck in when it comes to increasing their Android portfolio. The latest release is the Galaxy S, which will use the latest software and offer the latest HD video capabilities.

Let’s have a little look at what the Galaxy S mobile phone has to offer. It runs off the Android 2.1 software, comes with an impressive 4-inch ‘Super AMOLED’ screen that features mobile Digital Natural Image engine. mDNIe- is technology used on Samsung’s LCD and LED televisions to enable HD video viewing and recording. So yep that means it is HD ready!

It get’s better, the Galaxy includes a Social Hub, which means you can merge all your contacts’ social networking profiles, and corresponding status updates and alerts. It merges ALL messages across SMS and social networking applications into a single ‘live’ mailbox. To make sure this all happens at a super fast speed there is a 1GHz application processor!

A report from Washington has been released that the popular search engine Google, has been denied a trademark application for its Nexus One smartphone!

Google have been denied a trademark application for the new Nexus One mobile phone, after the US Patent and Trademark Office said the name had been taken by a related product, a report said.

Just last week a ruling issued to Google, said Google’s application was denied for the “likelihood of confusion” with a Nexus trademark held since 2008 by a telecommunications company from Oregon called Integra Telecom.

Google however can still submit further evidence to support its application, the Journal said. Google said ‘it claim rights to the Nexus One trademark in the United States, and plan to respond’ to the denial.

The launch of the Google Nexus One took place during January and gave Google the chance to hit the smartphone market. They have for months been challenging the impressive Apple’s iPhone, calling it a “superphone” and the next step in the evolution of Android software.

Reports have it that patent lawsuits are a regular occurrence among technology giants!

Sony Ericsson have produce impressive phone after impressive phone in 2010 and it’s only March!
