If music be your love the W980i will not disappoint, shooting right to the top of the best features table when competing against all members of the Walkman® family, including the Sony Ericsson W960i, Sony Ericsson W950i and the Sony EricssonW910i. The Sony Ericsson W980i comes with dedicated music keys which are designed in a modern and stylish circular formation, which adds to the stunning impact this music phone gives.

Made for music the main feature of the W980i is the built-in Walkman® music player, which produces a true and clear sound quality whatever your music genre may be. You are able to listen to music when the handset is closed and view all your music details on the external display screen. External music controls allow you to play, fast forward & rewind your music, plus you can use the Bluetooth® stereo (A2DP) technology which allows you to enjoy wireless when listening to music player. Organising your music has never been so easy with the create playlist feature and for a new playback you can shuffle music playlist. Why not listen to the radio with the built-in FM Radio and a USB connection which allows you to transfer files and data from your W980i to other USB compatible devices.

Use the latest music features including PlayNowâ„¢, SensMeâ„¢, TrackIDâ„¢ and Shake Control.

PlayNowâ„¢ allows you to download new songs in just a few clicks, which means this is the easiest and quickest way to download music.

SensMe™ allows you to create playlist based on the style and tempo of your music. You can create a playlist to suit your mood, weather it be happy, sad, energetic or chilled – you decide.

TrackIDâ„¢ music recognition is so much fun and so easy to use, simply record a few seconds of a song you have forgotten the name of, and then within seconds you will find out the name of the song, the name of the band or artist and the album from which the song belongs to. It really is that simple and will solve many arguments!

Shake Control which allows you to change and shuffle tracks at the flick of your wrist. No need to mess about with buttons and great for easy access to all your music.

Win a Nokia N95 8GB!

Greg posted July 31st, 2008 by Greg

A few weeks ago we posted a nostalgic video showing the evolution of the mobile phone from 1985 to the present day. It has sparked a lot of idle chat around the office about old mobile phones we’ve had over the years, and why we liked (or disliked!) them. In fact I was subject to plenty of abuse for my ‘questionable’ line-up of handsets!

It seems e2save blog readers liked the video too, prompting an unprecedented number of views, and some of you have even taken to putting the video on your own blogs to join in the nostalgia.

So, what about my ‘questionable’ line-up, then? I had my first phone in 1999 when I was 15; it was a Siemens C25 on Vodafone Pay-As-You-Go, and it cost about £85 of my parents’ hard-earned cash. I probably made about two calls from it in the couple of years I had it and the rest of my credit was used solely for texts - typical teenager!

I moved on to a Nokia 8210 in 2000, and I absolutely loved it. Great phone. It was tiny for the time, and did everything I needed. It could hold 10 dialled, 10 received, 10 missed calls and it even let me store 50 calendar notes - what more could you need? Who needs a 5.0 megapixel camera anyway?

Speaking of which, my first camera phone was also my first contract phone, the Samsung V200, on T-mobile. I bought this in 2003 from e2save, before i even worked for them! It wasn’t just any camera phone either – the camera actually swivelled around the flip part of the phone so you could not only take pictures of people and places, you could also take them of yourself! I know, mind-boggling technology, right? I remember this phone well because it came with two batteries – a fat one (with increased battery life) and a thin one!

I then moved on to what is my favourite phone of all time… the Nokia 6230! Similar in stature to my trusty 8210, I got this in 2004 and spent many hours playing the 3 – that’s right, 3 – built-in games during Economics lectures! The phone was wonderfully simple and my favourite by far.

After that I had a Motorola V3… for about a month. I ended up swapping it with a friend for a Sony Ericsson K750i. I got the better deal! The 2MP camera was decent quality for its day, and it even had a slide lens cover! I had an LG Chocolate last year which was alright, but the touch sensitive navigation was pretty cool and it looked great in the dark!

Being a bloke, I like gadgets… so I was pretty happy that the last phone I bought from e2save, the Sony Ericsson W810i, came with a free Sony Playstation 3!

So, here’s my very own ‘mobile phone timeline’:

This of course prompts the question: how does your ‘mobile timeline’ look? What’s your favourite phone of all time? Do you have a funny story about one of your old mobiles? If so, feel free to post a response about it.

Win a Nokia N95 8GB!

How did we ever live without them, eh?

HTC Touch Diamond - A Little Gem!

Greg posted July 21st, 2008 by Greg

We have just added the HTC Touch Diamond to our product range and we have already nearly sold out, and it’s easy to see why when you take a look at the impressive features of the HTC.  It has been dubbed as the “iPhone killer”, a bold statement I here you say…let’s have a little comparison then shall we.

The HTC measures in at a mere 11.3mm thick, which is 0.3mm thinner than the iPhone.  Sleek but what about the camera, well get the iPhone and you will take pictures on a 2.0 megapixel camera, compared to the modest 3.2 megapixel camera of the Diamond.  Now we’re getting somewhere - time to raise the bar!The HTC has three dimensional navigation and the phone has the ability to re-arrange the text of a web page to fit the screen of the phone.  Speaking of  which the screen the iPhone is slightly bigger - 3.5 inches diagonally compared to the 2.8 inches of the HTC, but this is hardly much of a downside. It is Wi-Fi enabled just like the iPhone with a direct link to YouTube, which is one of the highlights of both phones.  Although the standard iPhone has 8GB of internal memory you will still find a modest 4GB of space for all you music and media.  Just like the iPhone you will have instant access to the weather forecast for your location, handy for planning days out.

I think it is fair to say that the iPhone has met its match, so if you want a phone like the iPhone but don’t want to pay £99 for it then you are int he right place.  The Diamond is worth £399 but it’s yours FREE - click here!

If you want to see it in action before you get it take a look at this:

Greg posted July 7th, 2008 by Greg

Sony Ericsson are renowned from releasing high-spec cameraphones just look at old faithfuls such as the Sony Ericsson K800i!  Currently the best of the bunch is the new Sony Ericsson C902, but Sony have just announced that in quarter 4 of 2008 they will release the Sony Ericsson C905, which will house a monstrous 8.1 megapixel Cyber-shot camera!

This will be the first Cyber-shot slider and it will come with auto-focus, xenon flash, and an image stabiliser.  This is a perfect handset for those of you who take lots of pictures on days and nights outs with friends and family.  I think anything over 8 megapixels is a waste, you can maximise image quality at this level.  What’s more you can view your high quality photos on an impressive 2.4 inch scratch resistant screen.  Customers who require a high-spec camera for whatever reason should look no further than the c905 as it offers all your image requirements with the added bonus of it being housed in your mobile phone.

The C905 is more than just a cameraphone though…it has a music player, an FM radio, Wi-Fi, and video play-back and recording.  This will no doubt be a ground breaking phone, the features speak for themselves and the phone simply shouts quality.  If you want to be the first to own this fantastic handset then keep your eye on our coming soon page for the Sony Ericsson C905 to be added so you can register your interest there and we’ll send you an email with the best offer on the market the day it is released! Now sit back and watch the C905 in action:
