Launched in October 2010, the Instagram app has seen a meteoric rise to the top of the apps chart. A firm favourite with trendy photo snappers,Instagram was recently purchased by Facebook for a historic 1 billion dollars. What is the Instagram app and how can it be used?

What is the Instagram App?

Instagram picturesInstagram is a photo app that can transform bland amateur smartphone snaps into artistic masterpieces. Simply choose or capture a photo, crop, throw in a filter and optional border and Hey Presto! you have an Instagram photo. Sounds too simple to be true? Instagram is incredibly easy to get to grips with and you’ll have plenty of fun changing the mood and vibe of your photos as you switch between filters. Go back in time to 1977 or add a rustic feel with theLord Kelvin filter; you really have the freedom to manipulate your precious photographs to suit your taste. The great thing about Instagram is that it’s not just an app, it has become a social network in its own right. Much like Twitter, you can choose to follow whoever you want. Watch your fan base expand as you get creative with your snaps. Let your friends share and comment on your masterpieces. When you upload photos to your Instagram feed, you can still post them out to Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook; the latter appearing seamlessly on your Timeline as you publish a new snap.

Instagram app picturesI’ve been having lots of fun with it by taking some photos and transforming them. I would highly recommend it to all snap-happy people because it’s a great way of adding something a bit different to the look of your photo albums. They can brighten up your holiday snaps or even add a rustic look to some of your older pictures.
You can download Instagram for Android or iOS completely free. So there’s no excuse for you not to get snapping. Why not share your photos with @e2save. So we can see your Instagram photo talents, tag your photos #e2save to share.
