Samsung Galaxy S2 – ‘Best of the rest’

Processor: 1.2GHz Dual Core
RAM: 1GB
Internal memory: 16GB
Operating system: Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Release date: May 2011
When the Samsung Galaxy S2 was released in the UK in May 2011, it was quickly regarded as one the most powerful smartphones in the market. With a confident combination of a dual core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM it was a smartphone that was in fact more powerful than some Netbooks! With such power under the bonnet, the Samsung Galaxy S2 stood out from its competition when it came to speed, raw power and multi tasking. This also meant that when Android 2.3 Gingerbread was released it ran like a dream on the S2. With all this powerful hardware and the latest operating system, the Galaxy S2 was perfect things like gaming, movies and applications and with 16GB of internal memory, there was plenty of room for storage. It was no wonder that in 2011, the Samsung Galaxy S2 seemed to clean up on awards such as T3’s ‘Phone of the year’, various ‘Editors choice’ awards along with ‘Best Smartphone’ and many others. One thing is for certain, the Samsung Galaxy S2 will go down in the smartphone Hall of Fame and the Samsung Galaxy S3 has a tough act to follow, with lots to prove.
Samsung Galaxy S3 – ‘Best of the rest’

Processor: 1.8GHz Quad core
RAM: 2GB
Internal memory: 32GB
Operating system: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
Release date: Late Spring
A quick glance at the strongest rumours surrounding the remaining Samsung Galaxy S3 key features hits home that this smartphone means business and if those specs are true will be the most powerful smartphone ever released. The Samsung Galaxy S3 processor is hotly tipped to be a 1.8GHz Quad core with a huge 2GB of RAM. So as a comparison this would place it nearly twice as powerful as the Samsung Galaxy S2 and even the Apple iPhone 4S. While we mentioned that the Samsung Galaxy S2 was more powerful than some Netbooks, the Galaxy S3 would be more powerful than many laptops, high spec tablets and even on a par with some home computers!
Doubling up seems to be a theme for our Galaxy S2 Vs Galaxy S3 comparison, as the S3 is rumoured to come with 32GB of internal memory. We really thing Samsung could have plenty of tricks up their sleeves and there is certainly the potential for them to release a Samsung Galaxy S3 64GB variant. As it stands, the Galaxy S3 would be the first smartphone ever to feature a quad core processor, with 2GB of RAM. It’s also pretty much a guarantee that the phone will launch with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. It would also be likely that the Galaxy S3 will be compatible with the future Android OS release also, rumoured to be named Android ‘Jelly Bean’.
It looks most likely that the Galaxy S3 release date will be in late Spring, with April being strongly hinted. There was hope for a much earlier release date but recent news revealed that Samsung would not be announcing, revealing or demonstrating the Samsung Galaxy S3 at the 2012 Mobile World Congress. This went against speculation that Samsung would use the world’s largest mobile phone exhibition as the platform to show off what they hoped would be the Smartphone of 2012. Samsung instead have confirmed that they plan to host an independent event to showcase the Galaxy S3 in the first part of 2012. Android and smartphone enthusiasts alike, it’s a little longer to wait I’m afraid.
So, we have covered all the key areas and the tastiest rumours and info of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S3 smartphone and we are extremely excited to see which upgrades and improvements they include.
Soon as it’s released you can count on e2save to have great Samsung Galaxy S3 deals.
