Phone fanatics worldwide have been eagerly awaiting the announcement the next Samsung Galaxy handset. After months of rumours and a string of fake announcement dates, Samsung have finally spoken. With an invite offering the media the chance to “Come and meet the next Galaxy”, all will be revealed in London on Thursday May 3rd. What can we expect with the new Samsung Galaxy mobile phone and how will it differ to its predecessor?
The new poster containing blue and white pebble shaped blobs could be interpreted in many ways. Some believe the shapes could hint a radical new design that would dispel any future patent wars between Apple and Samsung. Other rumours suggest the fluid-like blobs could represent a flexible screen, a concept Samsung showed off at 2011’s Consumer Electronics Show. The blobs could merely represent the inclusion of an arty stylus pen, much like the The Samsung Galaxy Note. It’s the ultimate teaser where anything is possible!
The most recent rumour to emerge in the last few days is an eye tracking tool which using the front facing camera, could adjust phone settings using the guidance of your eyes e.g. Lock when you look away. It’s highly likely the Next Galaxy will boast a quad-core processor between 1.5 and 2GHz of raw power; offering a similar output to the HTC One X mobile phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is Samsung’s most successful smartphone to date; surpassing 20 million units sold globally since its mid-2011 release. With some experts believing the Next Galaxy specification will be a minor update from the S2, this move would be a similar tactic to the Apple iPhone 4S advancing the 4. With Samsung having the smartphone industry at their feet, we feel this would be a terrible decision if Samsung want to take full advantage of their head start against the Apple iPhone 5.
Fingers crossed for an exciting “Next Galaxy”
