Here we have a very impressive smartphone from Nokia and ill be taking you through a personal hands on account in this Nokia E7 review.
It has the look and aesthetics of the previous flagship Nokia N8 combined with the QWERTY keyboard of the Nokia N97, which makes it a very functionable and aesthetically pleasing phone.
Nokia E7 review – Design and style
So let’s start with reviewing the design of the phone. It is very sleek looking with the aluminium casing but this also makes it feel very durable so it will withstand day to day lifestyles.
The slide mechinism is very smooth and sits at the perfect viewing angle while opening and closing is done with ease. The combination of a 4 inch Nokia clearblack touch screen and Qwerty keyboard is truly the best of both worlds for navigation and communication.
Nokia E7 review - Imaging and video
The Nokia E7 boasts an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and records videos in 720p HD at 25 frames per second providing a seamless multimedia experience. The Nokia E7 smartphone also comes with a secondary camera for improved video calling and several added camera features such as geo-tagging, face detection and photo/video editing.
Connected world
There is a real sense of being a part of the Connected World when using this phone as you have access to many social sites such as facebook and twitter as well as push email, threaded sms and instant messaging. Content can be uploaded to and shared easily through various social network sites. One of the key features of this Smartphone is that you can view all your photos and videos via the HDMI connection and adaptor lead that comes with it on your HD TV or computer monitor. The QWERTY keyboard and clear display makes these much more a joy than a chore. You can achieve fast data browsing with high speed 3G internet and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Ovi store and applications
As with all Nokia’s you have the Ovi store avaliable to download apps and with over 40,000 avaliable there is certainly more than enough to choose from. Apart from what is avaliable to download there is more than enough already installed on the phone such as your ovi maps, BBC iplayer and social networking all in one place.
Nokia E7 review – Memory
With a 16 GB internal memory there is alot of storage space for everything you need whether its photo’s music or apps. If for any reason this isn’t enough room for you it is so easy to transfer all your data and information over to you computer without the need to upload software.
Nokia E7 review – Operating system/User interface
It comes loaded with the Symbian ^3 operating system but Nokia have now released the new symbian Anna operating system for faster connections and download speeds amongst other things. This phone operates in a similar way to most Nokia phones but one key difference I noticed when reviewing the Nokia E7 is it comes with 3 home screens that can be customised to suit specific uses and needs. You can also check how many applications you have open simply by pressing and holding the home key. This can allow you to either close or go to these applications and manage your phone easily.
Last words. After getting hands on with the E7 it left me with an overall impression this phone would be suitable for many types of users whether it be for business, social or everyday use. It is very functional and reliable as well as being durable and tough. Even though Nokia have aimed this smartphone towards business use the Nokia E7 is a smartphone for all users.
