Kindle Paperwhite WiFi

Are you a bit of a bookworm? Do those chunky paperbacks weigh down your hand-luggage every time you travel? Do you wish you could transport your collection of bestsellers wherever you go, without the bulk or weight? Wish no longer, as the Kindle Paperwhite is on hand to help.

Those sceptical about e-readers will be won over as soon as they get their hands on the 6th generation Kindle. Amazon have applied something called Carta E-Ink Paper Technology, which ensures your Kindle display behaves exactly like the pages of a book. This means a matt finish, easy viewing from any angle, no glare, and easy flipping between pages. A screen resolution of 212 pixels per inch also means there’ll be no squinting.

Whether you’re taking every Harry Potter novel or the 50 Shades trilogy, your bag won’t register any more than an extra 208 grams. With 2GB of storage built in, you’ll have plenty of space for your collection of Scandinavian crime fiction, but there’s cloud storage also available if you need more.

The Kindle Paperwhite also includes a number of extras to enhance the reading experience. If you usually have a dictionary beside you, you’ll enjoy the Smart LookUp app which enables you to easily define difficult words or phrases. The VocabBuilder can then test you on them later to ensure you’re a potential Countdown contender. Beyond the Book is also useful, giving you background info on characters and authors, and ensuring you’re the scourge of any pub quiz.

Amazon claim a single battery charge can last up to two months, so the Kindle Paperwhite should certainly survive the duration of your holiday. If you’re just kicking back at home however, then put your feet up, and render your TV obsolete.
