What is 3D? 3D means three dimensional, in other words it is something that has height, width and depth. In technology terms, 3D is associated with products that create the illusion of a 3D experience on a 2D (flat) screen. Traditionally, 3D has been limited to cinemas and televisions, but it is now being used in exciting new products such as the LG Optimus 3D Smartphone, Nintendo 3DS games console and LG Optimus Pad tablet.. 
How does it work? There are a number of ways that 3D technology works. Some require the use of special 3D glasses that filter images to each eye to create a 3D effect.
