The best budget phones from HTC
HTC’s ever expanding range of budget smartphones has certainly caught our attention when it comes to high-spec handsets with affordable price tags. With camera phones that break with tradition and two tone colour schemes that make them unique, there’s a lot to admire about HTC’s low-cost phone selection.
So, today we are going to take a look at three of the hottest HTC prospects: the Desire 610, 620 and the mighty 820.
HTC Desire 610
The Best of HTC in a budget smartphone

We begin with the HTC Desire 610 which puts those highly desirable HTC features in the hands of those who are shopping on a budget. The design closely mirrors that of the top-of-the-range HTC One M8, but with a lighter, more brightly coloured case.
On the front of this HTC affordable handset is a 4.7-ich display that makes a break from the minature display of the traditional budget device. Above and below this sizeable screen you will find the dual forward-facing speakers which feature built-in amps meaning you can really get the party started no matter where you are!
The Android operating system has been overlaid with HTC’s user interface; HTC Sense, which is what gives the Desire 610, and all HTC smartphones for that matter, their distinctive look. HTC BlinkFeed fills the home page, offering updates from your Twitter feed and Facebook friends, as well as news and sports headlines for your topics of interest.
On top of this already impressive set of specs, the HTC Desire 610 also boasts 4G internet connectivity, a super fast quad-core processor, GPS navigation and a mighty 8 megapixel camera. Not bad for less than £20 a month, hey?
Get hold of the HTC Desire 610 on a pay monthly contract. With a range of tariffs to choose from, there’s a deal to suit every need. You can even get cashback or a free gift.
HTC Desire 620
The new generation of budget smartphones

The HTC Desire 620 is one step up from the Desire 610 and boasts an increase in size. Its durable plastic shell houses a larger 5-inch display with a slightly sharper screen resolution of 720 x 1280, which is a welcome upgrade. HTC has put a lot of time into getting the Desire 620’s design just right, slimming down the phone’s bezels to get an almost edge-to-edge screen which is more commonly seen on much pricier handsets.
Once again the Android KitKat operating system sits beneath the HTC Sense user interface which feeds through to the home screen your latest Facebook updates and news from your fave celebs and hobbies. Plus, there’s a quad-core 1.2GHz processor powers the phone which means you’ll have no issues when trying to multitask.
What’s really different about the Desire 620’s design compared to other budget HTC phones is its dual colour palette which draws attention to the phone’s key design characteristic such as the camera lens. Speaking of cameras, possibly the most attractive feature of the smartphone is its high-definition 5MP selfie camera that has built in features such as a countdown timer to make sure you get the perfect selfie every time. Couple this with the 8 megapixel main camera and we have a winning package where the photographic potential belies the price-tag.
Due to arrive in February, HTC fans have got a lot to look forward to!

Although the HTC Desire 820 resides in the mid-range bracket, its affordable price tag and shockingly good specs and features make this phone a steal.
The Desire 820 design has had a much needed update and the overall look is very cutting edge and eye-catching thanks to its two-tone colour palette, just like the Desire 620.
Jumping up from the 620- and much more from the Desire 610- the Desire 820 sports a larger than life 5.5-inch display that’s ready for instant gaming and movie watching. Add to this a frame that measures only 7.74mm thick and we have a smartphone that really does stand out from the crowd.
But design aside, what really makes the HTC Desire phone one to watch is its range of specs. Just a few months back we would have classed the HTC Desire 820 as top of the range, with its huge octa-core processor that comes in at double the power of the Desire 620!
What’s more, the handset’s camera is just as startling as its design and spec list. The 13MP main camera features rapid fire continuous shooting but it’s the selfie camera that is the real gem of the Desire 820. With 8 megapixels packed into the Desire 820 front camera, the phone takes selfie quality into new realms, offering tonnes of tricks to enjoy including Face Fusion, real time Live Makeup for skin smoothing and Photo Booth. There’s also a quick app update in the pipeline to bring Auto Selfie and Split Capture modes to this model as well.
