Introducing the Honor 20e which is brimming with intelligent features, from the 6.21-inch FullView display to the AI triple-lens camera system and GPU Turbo.
Take a look at the Honor 20e in more detail as we unpack the top five features of this handset.
1 - Design
With its prism-shaped colour gradient, which is made using photolithography technology, the eye-catching design is the first thing you’ll notice about the Honor 20e. Subtly gleaming from every angle, and under every light, this handset is as stylish as it is smart. Despite its generous display, the handset weighs just 164g, giving it a light but substantial feel in the hand, and the durable plastic casing gives you a sturdy non-slip grip.
You’ll find a fingerprint scanner conveniently mounted on the rear of the handset, but that’s not the only means of unlocking the phone, as you can also use Smart Face Unlock to access your handset. For maximum security, this feature will recognise when your eyes are closed – only unlocking your phone once they’re open. Plus, at the base, there’s a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, so you can listen to your favourite albums, podcasts and more with both wired and Bluetooth headphones.
2 - Display
Stretching across the Honor 20e is a 6.21-inch Full HD+ display, making this smartphone ideal for users who value an immersive viewing experience, whether that’s for gaming, streaming boxsets or simply scrolling through socials. With a screen-to-body ratio over 90%, there are no bezels to be seen on this handset, save for the dewdrop notch that sits in the centre at the top of the display, and houses the 8MP selfie camera.
While the screen can provide a spectrum of up to 16 million vivid colours, the handset is also equipped with a TÜV Rheinland certified Eye-Care Mode. This next-generation eye comfort technology significantly reduces the output of blue light your phone emits, protecting your eyes from strain, especially when you’re viewing your handset in the dark.
3 - AI Triple-lens Rear Camera
Perfect for keen smartphone photographers, the Honor 20e features a triple-lens camera system, comprised of a 24MP main lens, 8MP ultra wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth lens. Working together, these three cameras can achieve spectacular, high-quality shots. The main lens will capture every detail in crisp clarity, the ultra wide-angle lens encompasses a 120-degree field of view, making scenic shots a breeze, while the depth lens enables you to bring your subject into the foreground every time.
As well as camera hardware, there are plenty of fun software features to explore, like AI multi-scene recognition, which can detect 22 different object categories in over 500 scenarios and adjust your settings accordingly. Super Night Shoot will enable you to take well-lit images in the dusk and the dark, and there’s also Super Slow-Motion video, so you can experiment with your footage as you film.
4 - GPU Turbo
Fuelled by a powerful 12nm Kirin 710F chipset, the Honor 20e has also been optimised to provide a next-level gaming experience. There’s room to keep all your favourite games with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and the potential to add a further 512GB with a MicroSD card (sold separately).
For gamers, the GPU Turbo is a real highlight – as it uses graphics processing acceleration technology to ensure a smooth, lag-free performance on even the most sophisticated, graphics-intensive games. You’ll never get cut-off mid-game either, with AI Elevator Mode, which cleverly registers when you enter or exit a lift, and recovers your 4G signal as quickly as possible.
5 - EMUI 9.1
The Honor 20e comes with the EMUI 9.1 OS installed and ready to use from the get-go. This custom operating system is based on Android 9 Pie, and unique to Honor and Huawei handsets.
EMUI 9.1 is a concise, user-friendly interface that’s designed to streamline data management, and has many features of its own to explore. AI Calorie Counting is just one of the skills the health assistant can bring to the table – just open your camera and select HiVision, then point it at a plate of food, and the device will estimate the nutritional value of your meal. Meanwhile, AI Translation is an especially convenient tool for frequent travellers – it can quickly and accurately translate foreign text on your screen when you hold two fingers down. There’s even a Scan-to-Shop mode, which allows you to find products you love by scanning the QR code, so you can purchase them online from a number of different retailers.
