HTC is investing in Dr Dre's Beats company

HTC is investing in Dr Dre’s Beats company, the US headphones company Beats Electronics that Dr Dre helped to found. This investment and partnership is part of the plan to improve the audio on HTC devices. It’s an exciting investment because it will lead to a new selection of HTC devices integrated with Beats “sound innovations”. This will be great for all the HTC phone users who love listening to their favourite music as they will have an extra edge on their music.

HTC is investing $300 million for its stake in Beats Electronics which they are hoping will increase the popularity of HTC devices. HTC have already been doing very well with their sales having increased by 83% in July this year. The investment will also help HTC in differentiating its Android handsets from rivals such as Sony Ericsson and Samsung. As newer Android smartphones continue to be released, you can see that they offer quite similar hardware offerings such as dual core processors.

As there is so much competition in the mobile technology world and especially amongst Android operated phones, it is not surprising that HTC is investing in Dr Dre’s Beats company and introducing new elements and offerings to their handsets. It will increase the variety of people buying from HTC, as they may now get more music lovers purchasing from them, as well as continuing to do well in the mass market.
