If size matters to you, then the **HTC One X**screen size towers above the Windows release with its 4.7 inch display. What may surprise you is that the smaller 4.3 inch HTC Windows Phone 8X, manages to cram in the same 720 x 1280 resolution. This means the HTC Windows Phone delivers a much higher density of 342 pixels per inch; that’s more than an Apple iPhone 5 Retina display.

Processor and performance
The HTC One X has already developed a reputation as a high performer of 2012. With its NVIDIA Tegra 3 1.5GHz quad core processor, the One X muscles through intense gaming and multitasking without fatigue. The HTC 8X utilises a Snapdragon S4; a 1.5GHz dual core processor that’s a next generation chip from Qualcomm.
Though tech lovers may argue that quad-core offers greater performance than dual-core, it may depend on what you are trying to achieve. For gaming addicts, the One X is a PlayStation certified device which may attract gamers who already enjoy the fun of the PlayStation Network. The HTC Windows Phone 8X would complement any Xbox console owner who has access to a range of classic arcade titles to play straight onto their smartphone. As future Xbox One integration with Windows Phone 8 devices promises to deliver more second screen features, it seems logical these would be available on the HTC 8X.
Camera Features
Both primary cameras for the HTC One X and Windows Phone 8X offer identical spec. Whichever you prefer, both cameras offer 8 megapixel snaps which are enhanced through a BSI sensor, F2.0 aperture and 28mm lens. With a dedicated HTC imaging chip, the camera reacts to the surroundings to help deliver the optimum photo. There’s even 1080p video in both devices to record your memories in High Definition.
If you love video calls, the Windows Phone 8X offers front facing video in beautiful 1080p against the HTC One X’s 720p. Arguably both looking great in high definition, the 8X goes a step further to offer a wide angled lens on its front facing camera. This means you can fit more friends into your video calls. Hard to separate between the two devices, we would recommend that for the frequent video caller, the 8X is a wise choice with its detailed picture and Skype integration.

It’s great to see that HTC have transferred popular features from their leading Android smartphone release into a Windows Phone device. If you’ve lost your appetite for Android Ice Cream Sandwich, you can now access the same great HTC features on a Windows Phone 8 handset.
To co-ordinate with the style and vibrancy of Microsoft’s tiled interface, the 8X delivers a handset with a bolder colour scheme to the whites and greys of the HTC One X. We feel the Windows Phone 8X is a great addition to the HTC family and pumps more life into the Taiwanese manufacturer.
