Huawei's P series is expanding, with the P40 range arriving in March 2020. If you love Huawei's new devices, but you're after a new handset that's on the budget-friendly side, then you can't go wrong with the Huawei P40 Lite.
Explore the top five features of Huawei P40 Lite from Huawei below.
1 - Quad-lens rear camera
Huawei's P Series is well-known for cutting-edge, next-level cameras on its smartphones - and the Lite variants are no different. You'll find a quad-lens rear camera on the Huawei P40 Lite, and you're sure to be impressed with the results.
Clear, refined and designed to preserve the smallest details even when you zoom in, the 48MP main camera is fully capable of taking stunning photographs be it day or night. It’s accompanied by the 8MP Ultra Wide lens, which can fit more of your surroundings into the frame with its 120-degree field of view, and a 2MP macro lens which is designed for close-ups, with shots possible from just 4cm away. The fourth and final lens is the 2MP bokeh lens, created to add depth to your images, and soften the background to enhance the subject of your photo.
The Huawei P40 Lite has a brilliant 16MP front-facing camera too. Whether you want to video call family or snap some self-portraits, you'll be well equipped thanks to this handset.
2 - 6.4-inch FullView display
You'll find a 6.4-inch Punch FullView display that spans right across the front of the phone. Minimal interruptions guarantee cinematic viewing, and Huawei has ensured a full-screen experience by creating a tiny holepunch-shaped notch to discreetly house the front camera. They’ve also relocated the device's fingerprint scanner inside the power button on the side of the device, to keep it out of sight.
The screen uses LCD technology, features 16.7 million colours and has a resolution of 2310 x 1080 pixels to ensure you receive a clear, detailed picture with true-to-life colour.
3 - 4,200 mAh battery
With one full charge, the Huawei P40 Lite is sure to stay powered up all day long. The 4,200 mAh battery built into the handset will keep you going from day to night, even if you're frequently using its most power-hungry features - like experimenting with the on-board camera. AI helps the handset use its charge efficiently too, providing power to the apps that need it the most.
When it does come to booting back up, you won't be waiting around long. Supporting 40W SuperCharge, you can reach 70% in just 30 minutes.
4 - Celia
Making its debut on the Huawei P40 range is Celia - Huawei's very own intelligent assistant. The P40 Lite will be one of the first Huawei handsets to offer this AI voice assistant, which has been fully integrated into the phone.
Celia can be activated simply by saying "Hey Celia", or by holding the power button down for one second. You'll be able to do all the basics hands-free, from calling contacts and scheduling meetings to sending texts and checking the weather forecast for the day. Complex tasks don't phase Celia either, this AI assistant can even translate foreign text in a number of ways: you can type, speak, play a recording or even use the camera to scan an entire paragraph.
Celia works in harmony with the camera in many other ways too. Point the camera at an object, and Celia will help you learn more about it. For example, directing the lens at a plate of food can help you to learn more about the nutritional benefits of your meal - just say 'Scan calories' to get started. You can position the camera at flowers too, ask 'What flower is this?' and Celia will let you know the flower type, alongside many other flower-related facts.
5 - EMUI 10.1
EMUI 10.1 - Huawei's own customised interface - is running on the P40 Lite, enhancing your everyday experience with minimalistic, easy-to-use navigation, Celia, and plenty of exciting, unique Huawei features.
To start, Huawei now has its own app store named the Huawei App Gallery, where you'll find over 45,000 apps ready to be downloaded. With Huawei Phone Clone, you can instantly download your favourite app from an old handset too, as well as all of your past contacts, photos and more.
EMUI 10.1 introduces a number of new features to Huawei users too, such as Huawei MeeTime - a video conferencing app that'll let you share your screen as well as video call friends. GPU Turbo is also loaded, which is sure to please gamers. Designed to reduce touch latency by 40%, you can expect faster response times from the handset that's sure to give you the edge over your rivals.
