The entry-level device in Apple’s 2019 iPhone range, iPhone 11 is the perfect handset if you want that iconic Apple smartphone experience and the latest iPhone features.
With an improved dual-lens camera system, edge-to-edge display and Apple’s fastest ever chipset on board, you can discover iPhone 11's top 5 features right here.
1 - Dual Lens Camera System
One of the most noticeable upgrades on iPhone 11 is its 12MP dual-lens camera system. The rear camera lenses are circular and bigger than previous iPhones, and sit apart rather than below one another. The 12MP Wide lens is equipped with 100% Focus Pixels for phase detection autofocus, meaning the lens will automatically enhance and focus images for clear and detailed photos, even in low light conditions. The 12MP Ultra Wide lens shoots with a 120-degree field of view, making the camera perfect for panoramic and group shots.
Night Mode has been introduced for the first time and is dedicated to capturing excellent shots in low light conditions without having to use flash. Ever-popular Portrait Mode is back, but with extra features. Lighting control means you can adjust the amount of light on the picture’s subject, while high-key light mono mode produces professional-standard, black and white portrait shots.
Turn to the front of the phone, and you’ll find a 12MP lens at the top of the screen. A new camera feature, this lens can capture ‘slofies’ (slow-mo selfies), helping to deliver selfies that move.
2 - 6.1-inch Display
Following a similar design to 2018's iPhone XR, iPhone 11 has a 6.1-inch LCD edge-to-edge display. Edges are curved and rounded, and there’s no home button as you unlock the device with Face ID. The screen stretches from edge-to-edge and you’ll find a discreet notch at the top of the screen that houses the 12MP front-facing camera.
Looking at the Liquid Retina display, colours are true to life, bright and detailed. You don’t need to worry about straining your eyes, as iPhone 11’s True Tone technology means the screen intelligently matches the light around you to reduce eye strain and increase comfort when using the device.
For optimum protection and durability, the handset is encased in resilient glass and the screen is protected by a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating. An upgraded IP68 water and dust resistance rating also means that iPhone 11 can be submerged in water up to 2 metres for 30 minutes without damage.
3 - Advanced A13 Bionic Chip
Apple’s A13 Bionic Chip is the fastest chip currently available on the market. Delivering a faster performance than ever before, the A13 Bionic chip helps run iPhone 11’s apps and features quickly and smoothly, and improving a user's all-round iPhone experience in the process.
This super-fast chipset also allows for an improved battery life. iPhone 11 promises to deliver an extra hour’s battery life compared to iPhone XR, meaning you can expect up to 65 hours of audio playback and 10 hours of browsing and streaming in a single charge.
4 - 4K Video Recording
iPhone 11’s upgraded camera is not just capable of producing improved photos, but videos too. With iPhone 11, you’ll be able to record video in 4K resolution at 60 frames-per-second, a considerable upgrade from previous iPhones.
Another improvement lies in audio recording. When zooming in on an image, audio will follow suit, meaning you’ll always be able to hear what’s going on without losing audio quality. What’s more, you can switch between taking videos and photos easily, shoot videos using the wide-angle lens and edit videos easier than ever before
5 - iOS 13
iPhone 11 runs iOS 13 straight out of the box, with plenty of upgraded features to take advantage of. Dark Mode will come into action to alter the colours in iPhone 11’s display and make them kinder on the eye, QuickPath typing lets you swipe from one letter to the next to enter a word without lifting your finger and the new AppleID system helps improve security and keep your data safe.
