iPhone music app recommendations from Matt @ e2save

Still one of my favourite and most used apps. Shazam is a music identification app, which is super easy to use, yet will be a valid tool for any smartphone arsenal.Switch on Shazam and hold up your smartphone to a nearby speaker, or at your table in a bar, gig etc and Shazam will identify the track that is playing.

Personally, music is a massive part of my life and I love the fact that when I hear something new I can now find out what artist is playing and the name of the song instantly!

Nlog is a synthesizer packed with features, samples and sounds and incredibly is available completely free.

Soundcloud is a superb free artist and track listening service, which allows you to integrate your account from the full version of Soundcloud (available on your PC/laptop/netbook).

Soundcloud has a huge back catalogue of material by pretty much any artist imaginable and even better it is home to some of the best remixes and covers that you are likely to hear!

Baby Scratch is a digital turntable available right in the palm of your hand on your smartphone.

Scratch, play about with samples and entertain yourself with your friends. And the best part? Its freeeeeee!

iAmBeatBox is without shadow of a doubt in my most favourite apps of all time and SavageApps (the developer) are currently on fire with a huge catalogue of releases available. This, however, is certainly my top choice. iAmBeatBox is a 15 track sampler, which uses different coloured crystals to enable you to play about and layer melody samples and beatbox loops over the top of each other.

This particular version is free and SavageApps even allow you to mixdown your recording to MP3, for later use or to export the MP3 to your computer. Seriously, try it but this comes with a health warning – you will get addicted.

So iAmBeatbox is the free version and BeatBox Ultra is the premium, paid version, available for the low, low cost of £0.99 (currently, this could change).  Basically BeatBox Ultra includes more sample and loop choice, better quality samples and more functionality. If you are fan of the free version then definitely consider upgrading.

For the beginner, intermediate and expert guitarists out there, GuitarChords is a must. Featuring hundreds upon hundreds of major, minor, diminished and augmented chords amongst others.

This really is the only chord library and database you will need.

iAmGuitar is yet another awesome app from SavageApps, who are currently owning the music production app market. iAmGuitar enables you to choose from a 12 string, 6 string and electric guitar and even the key in which its tuned to. You then can pick or strum the virtual guitar right on the screen of our iPhone, to impressive accuracy. Lots of fun to be had!
