Mobile phone recycling at e2save

Craig Mitchell - Customer Advisor
Here at e2save we constantly aim to be the best at everything we do. We aim to offer the best deals, customer service and engagement and very recently we’ve been focused at being one of the greenest businesses too with mobile phone recycling.

With thousands of mobile phones being despatched to customers all over the UK every month, it’s no surprise that this would mean there would be a similar amount of mobile phones being thrown away into landfill sites (or if you’re anything like me, they’re left in a kitchen drawer with the takeaway menus).

So as well as cutting down on the amount of paper used in the office, offering car sharing incentives to employees and also maintaining a high level of electrical efficiency throughout the business, e2save will now be helping you recycle an array of your old products (on a like for like basis) when you purchase from us.

How do I recycle my old electrical goods?

When you order a new handset from e2save.com you’ll automatically be sent an empty ‘Take Back’ envelope. All you have to do is pop your old mobile phone inside this envelope and drop it off at your local post office box next time you’re out and about. There isn’t any fee whatsoever and you can sleep soundly at night, safe in the knowledge that you are doing your bit towards saving the environment with mobile phone recycling.

If your order comes with a free gift, for instance a laptop or a TV, you can still recycle your old versions of these products too. These larger items such as televisions or games consoles may be a little bit bulky and try as you might it’s not possible to fit them into the A4 sized envelope provided.

So if you do have a TV or laptop and want to recycle it, you have the option to drop them off in any Carphone Warehouse or Best Buy store in the UK. Again, this service is free of charge.

So why should I bother?

If you decide to just throw your old mobile phone in the bin it will more than likely be taken and dumped in a landfill site. Over time the components within the phone will break down and toxins will leak out into the surrounding air or water causing pollution that can kill animals and have adverse effects on plant life. All of this unnecessary suffering is caused by what could have once been the best mobile phone on the market and could be avoided by putting a phone in an envelope and doing your bit for mobile phone recycling.

Is there another way?

Of course if you don’t want to donate to a charity, you can always use the e2save website to make a few extra quid for yourself. After all, the phone will still be recycled and Xmas is just around the corner. Just visit our trade-in page, fill out a small form (which takes less than 2 minutes) and then wait for an envelope to be delivered. Post the phone away and within 7 days of the phones delivery you will receive a cheque. For example, if you were to send them a HTC Desire HD you would get £131 back. Not to be sniffed at.
