A superb mid-range release from Samsung, the Galaxy A9 is a smartphone that's jam-packed with unmissable features. From an impressive 6.3-inch Infinity Display to a world-first quad-camera setup, this handset has plenty to offer.
Discover the Samsung Galaxy A9's top five features below.
1 - Quad Camera
The Samsung Galaxy A9 has not one, not two, but four rear cameras. The world's first ever quad-camera smartphone, Samsung has pulled out all the stops for this launch. What's the difference between each lens? Let's take a look.
The main camera comes in at an impressive 24MP, ensuring your photos are bright, clear and full of detail day or night. When working in conjunction with the 5MP depth camera you can expect an amazing bokeh effect, known as Live Focus, on this Samsung device. You'll be able to adjust the depth of field manually too if you'd like more control.
As for the final two cameras, there's also a 10MP telephoto camera with a 2x optical zoom to help you get closer to the action, and an ultra-wide 8MP camera capable of squeezing even more into one frame thanks to the 120-degree lens.
And, if that's not enough, you'll also have a 24MP selfie camera at your disposal, and there are additional features like scene optimiser and flaw detection to explore too.
2 - 6.3-inch Infinity Display
If you're into big-screen phones, then the Samsung Galaxy A9 won't let you down. The 6.3-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display is yours to enjoy, and thanks to the 80.5% screen-to-body ratio, you won't have to put up with a large, clunky frame to benefit from a better viewing experience either.
Edge-to-edge and bursting with colour, the A9's screen is sharp, vivid and perfect for every kind of user. Samsung's Always On display means you'll be able to see important information at a glance as well, be it notifications, the date, time, battery percentage or even the weather.
3 - Fast-Charging Battery
A powerful phone needs a powerful battery, and the Samsung Galaxy A9 has just that. The 3,800 mAh battery is estimated to deliver up to 23 hours of talk time on 3G, or 59 hours of audio playback, from one charge.
When it’s time to add some more juice to the handset, you'll be able to take advantage of Samsung's speedy Fast Charge feature.
4 - Face Recognition and Fingerprint Security
Access the Samsung Galaxy A9 quickly and securely simply by looking at the device. On board you'll find advanced facial recognition technology, which intelligently detects whether the person trying to access the phone is classed as a registered user. Intricately scanning your features, you'll be in full control of who can use the handset.
Alternatively, you can unlock via the fingerprint scanner conveniently located on the back of the device, or by entering a pin, password or pattern. Samsung Knox, the tech giant's own mobile security protection platform, is also pre-installed to keep your files secure.
5 - App Pair
Make multitasking a breeze, and streamline your user experience on the Samsung Galaxy A9, by utilising App Pair. A feature also found a handful of Samsung's other recent devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Note8, App Pair will help you make the most of Samsung's Multi Window Mode where you can use two apps at once, such as the Camera and Photo Gallery, or YouTube and Google Keep.
Once two apps are open in Multi Window Mode, you simply need to tap the small bar that you'll find in the centre of the screen. A pop-up menu will appear, and you'll see an icon that looks like a house with a plus sign inside. Press this and a shortcut for your current app combo will be added to your A9's home screen, meaning you'll always be able to access it in seconds.
