Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 vs Ace 3
Samsung’s Galaxy Ace smartphones have been flying off the shelves ever since the first Ace was launched back in 2011. And now Samsung is back with a vengeance with the Galaxy Ace 4. This budget smartphone looks set to work its magic again with an impressive set of specs and a camera to match, but how will it improve on the successful Ace 3? Let’s take a look in our Galaxy Ace 3 vs Galaxy Ace 4 review!
Ace 4 vs Ace 3: Identical Design
Putting both handsets side by side, there’s not a whole lot to compare between the Galaxy Ace 3 and the Ace 4. Donning a smooth, polycarbonate rear case which can be picked up in either black or white, both phones look almost identical. The only tell tale difference between the two handsets, however, is the Ace 4’s new metallic-look trim along its edges, giving it some extra pizzazz!

Both the Ace 3 and Ace 4 also share identically-sized screens, measuring in at 4-inches, with exactly the same screen resolution, meaning your snaps, videos and messages look just as sharp on either handset.
Samsung Galaxy Ace Specs
So we’ve already established that you’d be splitting hairs trying to find differences between the Samsung Galaxy Aces’ design. But how about on specs?
The Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 offers a fairly impressive set of specs under the hood, including a dual-core 1GHz processor, 8GB of memory and 1GB of RAM. And, as you might expect by now, the Ace 4 isn’t too much different, sporting an identical dual-core 1GHz processor. Though its internal memory is slightly smaller at 4GB, this can be extended to 32GB with the use of an SD card, so wouldn’t be a feature you’d be missing out on. And whilst the Ace 4 boasts a slightly smaller 512MB RAM count compared to the Ace 3’s 1GB RAM, it does offer the most up to date version of Android KitKat, which makes the phone look as fresh as all of the latest flagships on the market.

5MP Camera
Yet another feature that the Galaxy Ace 3 and Ace 4 both share is a 5 megapixel rear facing camera which is perfect for snapping those perfect shots when you’re out and about. The quality of the images with both camera phones is just as you would expect from Samsung, and the addition of a front facing camera for all your selfie needs is a welcome one!
One of the best things about the Ace 3 and Ace 4 cameras is that, with Android on board, you have access to all of the latest Android photo apps, such as Snapchat and Instagram, meaning you’ll never have to go without whichever handset you choose!
Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 Features
4G
One key feature that the Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 boasts is 4G connectivity. You’ll have probably have heard loads about 4G smartphones- which let you surf the net at superfast internet speeds- but this a feature that’s been kept well away from budget phones- until now!
Though a 4G-compatible version was available with the Ace 3, the Ace 4 comes with 4G as standard, giving all Ace 4 users the chance to experience the dizzying speeds of 4G- just think about how quickly you could load your clips of cats falling out of windows and dogs running into walls!
Android: Jelly Bean vs KitKat

Another stand out difference between the two Samsung handsets is that the new Ace 4 sports an up to date version of Android, compared to the Ace 3’s Jelly Bean. Although even a seasoned smartphone user might not be able to tell the difference between the two- especially with Samsung’s Touch Wiz user interface layered over the top- Android KitKat offers tonnes more features in comparison such as clever phone number recognition and Google Now, a hub which houses all of your most important information such as travel times to work, weather reports and updates from your favourite websites!
Ace 3 vs Ace 4: Verdict
So, all in all, there’s not a whole lot of differences between the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 and Ace 4. With identically sized 4-inch displays, dual core processors and 5 megapixel cameras, you’d really be splitting hairs when it comes to pulling these two apart!
And while the Ace 3 might boast a larger internal memory and RAM count, the new Ace 4’s addition of Android KitKat and 4G connectivity makes the handset stand out from its older brother just that tiny bit.
