With the anticipated release of the Samsung Galaxy S4 – the latest phone in the Samsung Galaxy series, it is no wonder that there are lots of rumours about the design, prices and release date floating around. Galaxy S4 design and features
The design of a new high end smartphone is always a great aspect to speculate about. There is no doubt that the screen resolution of the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be fantastic, as the Galaxy S2 and S3 had great displays too. The Galaxy S2 had a super AMOLED display and the S3 had a 4.8 inch screen size. To compete with these, the Galaxy S4 will have to bring out a screen that is quite different and unique. For example there have been rumours that the new Samsung Galaxy S4 will have a flexible screen, but these rumours have been easily dismissed. The more likely rumours include that there could be a 5.0 inch 1080p screen with a 440ppi, which would make it the highest resolution handset on the market, and more detailed than Apple’s Retina Display. Apple have since upped their iPhone display from the traditional 3.5 inches to a rounded 4.0; a possible attempt to size up to their Galaxy rival. This is sure to be short lived though as the Galaxy S4 release could be an entire inch bigger.

Other speculation around the features of the new Samsung Galaxy S4 include that the flash memory will increase in speed and be reduced in size. This suggests a thin handset could be on the market with a high capacity. It could also be that the new Samsung Galaxy may include wireless charging like handsets such as the Nokia Lumia 820. This will be extremely handy for busy people who lack time to charge, or wish to refuel in style.
Could the new handset run on the next version of Android operating system from Google? The Key Lime Pie operating system could be what the Samsung Galaxy SIV runs on which will be exciting. However there is still the possibility that Android Jelly Bean will be the operating system. Who knows?
If you like a good camera on your mobile phone, then the Samsung Galaxy S4 could be for you. A leaked picture that was supposedly taken by an S4 seems that the camera is at least a 10 megapixel camera. This is a significant upgrade from the camera on the current Samsung Galaxy S3 which is an 8.0 megapixel camera. To compete with other smartphone cameras out there such as the Sony Xperia Z and its 13 megapixel camera, Samsung will definitely have to increase the quality of photos that can be taken with the next Samsung Galaxy.

Galaxy S4 release date
It is always difficult to guess the release date of a high profile handset or even the exact month it may be announced, but a potential date for the launch event of the Samsung Galaxy SIV is 22nd March 2013. However other sources have suggested that the next Samsung Galaxy will make an appearance at MWC 2013 suggesting that the handset will be released around April time.
Samsung Galaxy S4 price
By looking at what the price was when the Samsung Galaxy S3 launched last year, we can expect a handset cost of at least £499. I think it is unlikely judging by the high tech rumoured specs that it would be significantly cheaper to compete with other handsets that are dominating the smartphone market. The Google Nexus 4 had a lower price point which helped it compete in the smartphone market, but I would say it is unlikely that the next Samsung Galaxy will have as low a price, as the rumoured specs suggest a better handset than the S3. If bought with a 4G service, the customers will probably be looking to pay around £30-40 per month for the Samsung Galaxy S4.
