Download Netflix

The Netflix logo

The biggest name in online streaming right now, if you don’t fancy paying full price to make your way into a cramped movie screen and listen to the couple behind you chatting throughout the film, you could always bring the movie home using Netflix. Costing just £5.99 a month, you can stream movies and TV shows alike to your phone, tablet, PC or smart TV with none of those extortionate popcorn prices.

While the movies aren’t quite as up to date as those at your local Odeon, you do get a varied selection, including TV shows like Orange is the New Black and House of Cards. Also, with a kids section available, there’s tons of cartoons and children’s programmes for younger viewers as well.

Do you know what’s great for enjoying Netflix on? A tablet! Take a look at our fantastic range of cheap tablet deals, either free with a phone contract or on their own.

Get the DVDs in!

A DVD player

You can’t beat a good old DVD can you? Incredibly cheap nowadays thanks to internet streaming services, you can often find some of the latest releases for less than an average trip to the cinema.

While you may have to wait a while for the film to make it to DVD, you can obviously pause, rewind and skip to your heart’s content. Also, you get an unlimited number of playbacks, as long as you treat the disk itself with respect.

Try your luck with TV

A TV viewer

Admittedly a very hit and miss tactic, television can provide some pretty good movie viewing options on its day, especially if you have a cable or satellite service powered through your remote. Of course, TV premiers tend to be very few and far between, meaning that you’ll have to wait a good while before that must-see cinema flick makes its way onto Freeview.

This is arguably the cheapest option however, costing you a fraction of that of a single trip to the cinema in today’s economy. But remember, you don’t decide what does make the cut when it comes to TV listings, you merely have a choice between whatever happens to be on a channel at a set time.

Nearing the end of your contract? Why not get a free TV with your next mobile phone deal? Go on, why not?

Online movie stores

iTunes Movies

If you don’t like the idea of paying a monthly fee for your movies, taking your chances with the TV guide or building up a hefty bulk of DVDs then this is your next best option. Online stores like that on iTunes offer thousands of titles for you to buy or rent for your devices.

Hitting the market fairly sharpish after its cinema release, movies can be downloaded quickly and easily and are plenty more reliable than those dodgy downloads your mate brags about at the pub. Prices vary, but you can grab some great deals on a regular basis with this technique, and you can watch them on the go, making tedious journeys far more entertaining.

The 5.7 inch display on the Samsung Note 4 is another great way to view your favourite flick.

You could always pay full price?

A Cinema

The mere thought might make your stomach turn, especially if you’re a serial Orange Wednesday user, but, dare I say it, you could always bite the bullet and pay full price to catch a film at the cinema.

On the plus side, you do have a great experience at the big screen, with supersized displays and ground rumbling audio. Also, the money you pay does go directly into the movie making business, helping produce higher quality flicks in the future.

Finally, with popcorn, nachos, ice cream and soft drinks all at your fingertips, it’s hard not to enjoy yourself at the cinema. Just make sure not to remember all of those times you managed to do it for half the price thanks to Orange’s brilliant marketing plan…
