Tablets making their way to e2save this Spring

So with CES 2011 going tablet crazy and the mobile world congress event set to do the same it seems only right that we get ourselves on the tablet) band wagon as soon possible.

With that in mind we thought we would give you a sneak preview as to what tablets are expected to make their way on to our site in the coming months.

Firstly we have something that I personally have been looking forward to for a while now and that is the BlackBerry PlayBook. We are hoping to get the PlayBook in sometime around its release which is expected in March.

Long tipped as a big challenger to the iPad, the PlayBook has been sort of stuck in a Tablet Limbo for the past couple of months as many rumours surfaced regarding the PlayBook’s poor battery life and that it would be delayed. RIM have since discounted any such rumours as nonsense and assure us that it is on schedule.

So what is there to expect from the PlayBook. Well it will be running a newly designed operating system called QNX OS which will allow for multi tasking and multi core processing. In addition to this the OS is capable of running flash 10.1 and HTML 5 so you are assured of a complete web browsing experience. Also if you have a BlackBerry smartphone running software V5 or higher then good news, with the PlayBook by your side you can now have the means to share information between the two devices.

Underneath the operating system lies the heart of a beast. That’s because the PlayBook will come with a dual core 1GHz processor that RIM says will make it the fastest tablet yet. This should also allow the tablet to process some pretty graphic intensive applications in addition to high resolution video. Videos have already shown the tablet displaying 1080p high definition without any problems.

Last but not least the BlackBerry Playbook will come with dual cameras. A 3 megapixel front facing snapper and 5 megapixel back camera.

Now we switch our attention to the second tablet on our list. This device is a newcomer to the tablet scene and recently took this years CES event in Las vegas by storm, winning Cnet’s best of show award.

The tablet in question if you haven’t heard of it already is the Motorola Xoom. A sleek, sophisticated and powerful 10 inch slate that comes running the much talked about Android Honeycomb operating system.

Motorola say it will be the first dual core processing tablet out there and will also be the first tablet to be running Honeycomb. Similar to the PlayBook the Xoom will also come with dual cameras.

These really are two fantastic tablets however as they are coming from two manufacturers that have never produced a tablet PC before, we have to wonder whether there will be any teething problems. Then again teething problems or not we’re confident the overriding good points will ultimately shine through and these really will be two tablets to watch for 2011. Keep your eyes peeled and check back to our tablet.
