I've upgraded from the original pixel to this. Like most phones in recent years the hardware has only marginally improved but it's still a great phone. The earbuds supplied that read out notifications without looking at my phone is a big highlight for me when standing cramped on the work commute. The phone is quicker and the battery is lasting a full day easily. Maybe under if you watched a 2hr film but it's managed well with some graphic heavy gaming, podcasts and web browsing comfortably for a day. The phone feels a lot slimmer than the Pixel 1 even though i think the difference is less than .5mm. Fingerprint scanner is very quick. Camera as with the Pixel is outstanding although i'm not sure there is a massive improvement in the photos the video looks very good filming 4k. If you are looking to upgrade from fully working Pixel 2 i wouldn't bother. Not because it's a bad phone but because the hardware hasn't made much in the way of groundbreaking changes and unlike most brands Google roll out software improvements to all of their phones. So gimicks like AR photos/selfies that Samsung and Apple believe justify a grand out your pocket had been rolled out to all Google phones. i only upgraded due to a struggling battery that couldn't last more than 4 hrs after 2 1/2 years. For some the waterproofing will be a comfort, Lack of headphone socket doesn't bother me as the adapter for USBC is supplied and adds just a couple of centimetres to your cable length.

Google Pixel 3 Camera

Google Pixel 3 boasts a 12.2MP camera packed with useful features. There's a speedy autofocus on board, as well as both optical and electronic image stabilisation, to ensure pin-sharp snaps every time. And you can store all those special memories for free with unlimited online photo storage.

The secondary camera is an 8MP wide-angled lens, which arrives with a Group Selfie setting to guarantee you'll fit all your friends into the next group shot. You can also enjoy professional looking results such as depth-of-field and the perfect smile, thanks to Portrait Mode and Top Shot features.

Google Pixel 3 Power

Featuring smart energy-saving management, the Google Pixel 3 conserves battery power in a range of ways, such as shutting down unused apps automatically. With such efficient energy, you can expect this fast-charge battery to last for a whole day, without letting you down when you need it most.

Say goodbye to charging cables and enjoy a tangle-free experience, with Qi wireless charging technology on the Google Pixel 3. Designed for both convenience and speed, you can charge the Pixel 3 on any compatible Qi charger, or combine with the Pixel Stand (sold separately) for added features and shortcuts.

Google Assistant and Google Lens

Make daily life even easier thanks to the Google Pixel 3. With Google Assistant in your pocket, all the info you could need is only a voice command away, including flight times, traffic updates, weather reports and more. And if you need a little quiet time, just flip the handset face-down to activate the Do Not disturb function.

View the world around you through the Pixel's camera, and Google Lens can instantly display info on thousands of images. Point Google Lens at museums to view their opening times, or at a movie poster to discover a synopsis. It can even translate foreign signs and menus when travelling abroad.
