4. Double-check it’s the correct person and then tap on ‘FaceTime’ to call
How to share screen
Sharing your iPhone screen allows everyone to see exactly what you’re looking at, from searching the internet to scrolling through old photos:
- Ensure your device iOS is 15.1 or later. If not, you’ll need to update your system software
- While you’re on a FaceTime call, tap the Share Content icon

Live captions on FaceTime
One notable feature that can be hugely beneficial for people who are hearing impaired is the live caption feature. It works by transcribing the conversation on your iPhone screen in real-time; this makes it effortless to follow the conversation, especially during a weak Wi-Fi connection:
- Make a call using the FaceTime app
- During a video call, tap on the screen. This will then show you the FaceTime controls
- Tap the icon with the small ‘i’ in the centre at the top of the controls
- Turn on ‘Live Captions’, then tap ‘Done’
